UPDATE: Additional Audition for Male Roles in Agatha Christie's "Black Coffee"

Gaslight Theater is announcing that an additional evening of auditions for male roles in their next production, "Black Coffee" by Agatha Christie, will be held on Wednesday, June 22 at 6:00pm at Hallowell City Hall Auditorium. Please enter the City Hall from the front door only!

Auditions will be cold readings from the script.

Casting is for 10 male roles:

  • Treadwell, the butler, (20s-60s)
  • Sir Claud Amory, (50s plus)
  • Richard Amory (early 30s-mid40s)
  • Edward Raynor (mid 20s-mid30s)
  • Dr. Carelli (30s-60s)
  • Dr. Graham (30s plus)
  • Hercule Poirot (40s plus)
  • Captain Hastings (30s plus)
  • Inspector Japp (30s plus)
  • Constable Johnson (20s plus)

About the Play:

"Black Coffee" was the first appearance on stage of Christie's most famous detective, Hercule Poirot. The plot revolves around scientist Sir Claud Amery and his secret formula for atom bombs. Additional characters include Sir Claud's son Richard and Richard's wife, Lucia, as well as his sister Caroline and niece Barbara. When the formula is stolen, Sir Claud's suspicions fall on his family. But could his secretary, Edward Raynor, his butler, Treadwell, or the mysterious uninvited guest, Dr Carelli, be involved? Helping Poirot investigate are Captain Hastings, Inspector Japp and Dr. Graham.

"Black Coffee" is directed by Bob Gilbert with assistant director Linda Duarte.
