Annual One-Act Play Festival in Gardiner

The Maine Association of Community Theaters (MeACT) will be producing their 17th annual one-act play festival on Saturday, April 12, 2014, at the Johnson Hall Performing Arts Center in Gardiner at 280 Water Street. The Festival is hosted by the Open Book Players.<

There will be afternoon performances beginning at 1PM. by Open Book Players of Gardiner, Lamoine Community Arts, Gaslight Theater of Hallowell, L/A Community Little Theatre of Auburn, Brent Hutchins of Bar Harbor, Oak Hill High School, and Aqua City Actor’s Theater (ACAT) of Waterville.

In addition to one-act play performances, there will be two workshops beginning at 9AM. Dennis Price, a veteran of many Theater at Monmouth productions, will present an improv workshop; and Wil Kilroy, Professor in the Theatre Department of USM, will present an acting workshop.

These will be followed by a MeACT business meeting for those who desire to become more involved in the organization, a luncheon, and commentary after the one-act performances by Wil Kilroy.
