Cast is Announced for "Morning's at Seven"

Director Bruce Hertz, of Wayne, has announced the cast for Gaslight Theater's opening show of the 2014 Season, Paul Osborn's Morning's at Seven.

Cora Swanson (Deborah Howard of Farmingdale) and her sister Ida Bolton (Kathleen Brainerd of West Gardiner), along with husbands Theodore "Thor" Swanson (Frank Omar of Hallowell) and Carl Bolton (Michael Rowe of Waldoboro), have lived next door to each other for their entire married lives.

An old-maid sister, Aaronetta Gibbs, or "Arry" (Elizabeth McKenney of Winthrop), lives with Cora and Thor.

A fourth sister, Esther Crampton (Linda Duarte of Litchfield) and her husband David (Walter Guild of Farmingdale), live outside the immediate neighborhood.

As the play opens, all four families are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Homer Bolton (Henry Quintal of Augusta) and his fiancée, Myrtle Brown (Julie Barrett of West Gardiner). Homer has been engaged to Myrtle for seven years and dated her for five years before that and, oddly enough, this will be the first time anyone in his family will have met her.

Sibling rivalries, family feuds, contested real estate and tangled relationships are all in play in this gentle comedy from the 1930s.

Carol Homer of Cornville produces.

Gaslight Theater's production of Morning's at Seven will open March 21st, 2014, at Hallowell City Hall.
