The Fox is Coming Soon to a Fairway Near You

If you love golf (or love someone who loves it) and love to laugh, Gaslight Theater's next production is for you.

Gaslight has announced the cast for The Fox on the Fairway. "Fox", by Ken Ludwig and directed by Linda Duarte, opens August 30 at Hallowell City Hall.

The Fox On the Fairway will take you behind the scenes at a private country club, where you will find romance, rivalry and ribaldry, slamming doors and seduction, all revolving around man's eternal love affair with… golf.

Bingham (Jonathan Williams), president of the Quail Valley Country Club, feels betrayed when he discovers that that the golfer he thought would play for his club in an all-important tournament has switched sides to play for his nemesis, the insufferable Dickie (David Marshall).

His new assistant Justin (Henry Quintal) is in love with Louise (Samantha Wilson), a waitress at the club house. But Justin is also a terrific golfer, and seems on his way to saving the day, when his romance takes a turn for the worse, and takes his golf game with it.

As Bingham's hopes are crashing around him, he also finds himself in a love (or lust) triangle between Pamela (Kathy Reardon) his vivacious -- and very available -- vice-president and his wife Muriel (Elizabeth Kelso).

With The Fox on the Fairway, Ken Ludwig, author of the acclaimed farces Lend Me a Tenor and Moon Over Buffalo, has crossed golf with farce and come up with an ace.

The Fox on the Fairway will run for six performances:

  • August 30th, 31st and September1st, 7:30 pm
  • September 7th and 8th, 7:30 pm
  • September 9, 2:00 pm matinee
