Another Chance to Audition for One-Acts; but Don't Forget The 39 Steps

The Gaslight Theater is announcing an additional audition for our Evening of One Act Plays.

Good parts and all roles for all are still available, but we are especially seeking young males,  college aged females, and older women.

We are adding an additional audition on Sunday, March 11 at 3:30, at Hallowell City.

Don't be confused, this means we will be having two (2) sets of auditions on Sunday March 11.

One-Act auditions will Happen AFTER the Gaslight Theater auditions for The 39 Steps which are at 2:00 pm.  Come at 3:30 or stay after The 39 Steps audition.

The one acts are for our annual One-Act Play Festival, April 13 & 14 at 7:30 pm. At least one of these plays will also be performed at MeACT's One-Acts Festival in Portland on April 21. Plays being cast are:

  • The Class by Marie Coyle: 3 female college students
  • The Perils of Long Term Care by Michael Kimball: 1 older female
    • Both directed by Lee Kerr
  • Dinner for One by Lauri Wylie: 1 male and 1 female
    • Directed by Mike Clements
  • Things and Other Things by Sybil Baker: 1 older and 1 young woman
    • Directed by Dale Smith
  • The Right to Remain by Melanie Marmich: Middle-aged couple and teenage male
    • Directed by Ben Keene.

Reminder: Auditions for 39 Steps Wednesday March 7th at 6:30 pm, Sunday March 11th at 2:00 pm

The 39 Steps has parts for 3 men and 1 woman. One man plays one role, the woman plays three roles, and the other two men play all the other characters, both male and female.

Auditions will consist of cold readings with possibly some improvisation and movement.

Perfomance dates for The 39 Steps are May 18th through 20th and 24th through 26th.
