Gaslight Produces an Evening of One-Act Plays

As a preview event for the 2012 MeACT One Act Festival The Gaslight Theater will showcase 3 One Act plays.

Performances are Friday and Saturday, April 13th and 14th, 7:30 pm at Hallowell City Hall.

The performances are free but donations will be accepted.

The plays are:

  • “The Right to Remain” by Melanie Marmich, directed by Ben Keene and featuring Ben Keene, Karen LaPlante and Mike Pullen;
  • "Dinner for One” by Lauri Wylie, directed by Mike Clements with Marie Cormier and Frank Omar; and
  • “The Perils of Long Term Care” by Michael Kimball, directed by Lee Kerr and featuring Lee Kerr and Julie Barrett

Gaslight's annual One-Act productions allow us to encourage and mentor new directors, furthering our goal of making theater arts more accessible. It also gives experienced directors and actors an opportunity to try out challenging material and intriguing roles with a lesser time commitment than a full-length production. That is the case this year, as the selections showcase some of the area's best directors and actors.

Don't miss Gaslight's Evening of One-Act Plays, April 13 and 14th, 7:30 pm at Hallowell City Hall.
