"But What I Really Want to Do is Direct" A One-Act, That Is

If this is you, here's your chance.

Gaslight Theater is once again soliciting directors for its annual One Act Play Festival. The evening of one-acts is a program that the Gaslight Theater uses to encourage and mentor new directors to further our goal of making theater arts more accessible.

The One Act Play Festival has been an opportunity for those who have not directed before, or who are new to Gaslight, to practice and showcase their abilities. Experienced directors have also used the opportunity to stage a unique or challenging piece. Area actors have also embraced the chance to take on intriguing roles with a lesser time commitment than a full-length production.

One-acts in prior years have been 10 to 20 minutes long, comedies and dramas, new and classic.

Auditions for the One Act Plays will be at the Harlow Gallery, 160 water Street, Hallowell:

  • Sunday, March 13th 2:00 to 4:00 pm
  • Monday, March 14th, 6:30 to 8:30 pm

. Performances will be Friday and Saturday, April 29 and 30, at Hallowell City Hall.

Directors who are interested in taking part in this year's Evenings of One Acts should contact Gaslight Board Member Karen LaPlante.

If what you really want to do is direct, let us hear from you.
