Gaslight Theater to Produce an Evening of One-Act Plays

The Gaslight Theater again proudly presents an evening of One Act plays. The evening of one-acts is a program that the Gaslight Theater uses to encourage and mentor new directors to further our goal of making theater arts more accessible.

Last year, the Gaslight Theater One Act program introduced our audiences to new directors Mike Clements of West Gardiner and Colleen Mahan of Greene. This year’s offering introduce us to new directors Karen LaPlante and Jeralyn Shattuck, who are also new Board or Director members. The Gaslight Theater advertises for applicants for this initiative at the beginning of every year.

This year’s One Act offering includes

A Marriage Proposal by Anton Chekhov
directed by Bruce Hertz and featuring Mel Morrison, Eric Lindquist and Jessica Fratus.
A Grave Encounter by Gene Raffini
directed by Jeralyn Shattuck and featuring Michelle Sweet and Cory King
Ferris Wheel by Mary Miller
featuring Ben Keene and Kathleen Cassidy Reardon
Heart of the Fire by Rich Orloff
Featuring Ben Keene and Jodi Harvey. These last two are both directed by Karen LaPlante
The plays will be presented on Friday April 30 and Saturday May 1st at 8 pm at Hallowell City Hall. The box office opens at 7:00 pm.

There will be a reception with the cast, directors and crew following the performances.

Tickets are $12, and can be reserved by calling 207-626-3698.
